Web Artist Message:
To all 75th RRA members:
Greetings from Smartville, CA (pop. 303). Having just learned in an e-mail from
Emmett that I've been appointed the Association Artist, I thought it only appropriate
to briefly introduce myself.
My name is Dave "Varmint" Walker, and among numerous Army assignments
spanning from 07-'65 through 12-'76, I proudly served with F/58 LRP during late
'67 through early '68, and N/75 Ranger from late '70 through mid--71.
I began civilian flight training during mid-'76 while on active duty with the
7th ID at Ft. Ord, CA. Following my reinstatement to the PDRL in the rank of SSG
E-6 in 12-'76, I pursued advanced flight ratings, culminating my professional
flying career in mid-'98 holding an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Cert. and 15,000+
PIC hrs. The vast majority of my flying entailed overnight all-weather freight
and U.S. Mail operations in medium-sized multi-engine piston and turbine aircraft.
Also did a turn flying prisoners as a sheriff's deputy during '80-''81, which
was really fun.
Started messing with computers about 4 years ago, and what I've learned to this
point is pretty much self-taught. Spent a fair amount of time learning my graphics
program, and hope you all like my graphics. I am NOT, however, a professional
graphic artist.
I have a 30 year old daughter, Allison Kay, and a 10 year old Grandson, Kenneth
IV. My wife Christine and I have been married for 13 years, and I'm the proud
owner of a 10.86 acre ranch in the N. CA Sierra Nevada foothills.
Until next time,
Graphic Artist, 75th Ranger Regiment Association
