F/51 LRP & F/51 LRS UNIT DIRECTORS MESSAGE |
 |
Unit Directors Message:
Welcome to F/51 LRP section of this
web site. I was in Vietnam for 1 tour as a Radio Operator. I worked in the TOC
and on radio relays. I came into F/51 LRP about 4 months before they were disbanded.
We were broke into 3 groups, I am told. My group became part of P/75 Rangers,
another became part of O/78 Rangers, and the last became part of D Co 151st LRP,
which was a National Guard unit. This unit became D/75 Rangers when the change
over happened.
I started attending F/51 LRP reunions in 1995 and found that
the respect that I had for the patrols that were out in the field, they felt the
same about those of us that were their life line to staying alive out in the field.
I have found that attending reunions, whether with your original LRP or Ranger
Company is helpful in healing old hurts and emotions. Having people to talk to
that went through the same things that you did is beneficial to you as well as
those that you are around. You will also be able to see others have changed and
what they have been doing now. When you make your 1st reunion, you may think that
you are an outsider, but you are further from the truth, as you will be welcomed
with opened arms back into brotherhood with those that you spent a time with that
they understand. If you are curious about attending a reunion then get a hold
of one of the listed Unit Directors or one of the 75th Ranger Officers for more
information, you won't regret it. Also if this is the first place you came then
take a spin through the rest of the web site and see what we have.
